Dr. Balam Singh Bisht

He is presently working as an Assistant professor (Organic Chemistry) at Government Post Graduate College Berinag, Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand (India). He has completed his M.Sc. (Chemistry) from D.S.B. Campus of Kumaun University, Nainital India). Recently he has established Himalayan Medicinal & Aromatic Plant Research Centre (HIMARC) in Govt Postgraduate College Berinag, Uttarakhand (India).

He has completed his Ph.D. degree in Chromatographic and Spectroscopic analysis of Natural products under the dynamic supervision of Emeritus professor and Scientist Prof. C S Mathela from Phytochemistry Research Laboratory, D.S.B. Campus of Kumaun University, Nainital. He has more than 10 years of research experience with about 15 research papers published in reputed international and national journals, one book published. He has done survey, collection and analysis of medicinal and aromatic plants collected from Indian Himalayan Region viz. Tungnath, Pindari, Sunderdhunga, Gangi, Narayan Ashram, Dronagiri and Malari. He also got Young Scientist Award for Best Poster presentation in the National Seminar on Emerging trends in Chemistry-Biology interface held at D.S.B. campus, Kumaun University, Nainital (Uttarakhand) on 3-5 November 2011.
