Dr. Shivani Chandra

I am a molecular biologist with special emphasis on molecular markers and genomics. My research interest explored experimental approaches include classical genetic screens for phenotypic markers; molecular analyses of gene structure and function; gene identification, cloning, mapping molecular markers for disease resistance. Later, I moved to genomics with whole genome sequencing and pathogen functional genomics. Currently, I am interested in using molecular approaches to access water quality and identify pathogenic bacteria in water and waste water systems. I have also explored computational genomics with respect to comparative genomics and gene identification tools. I have over 15 years of experience in research field. I have over 15 publications in reputed journals and 6 book chapters. I have about 4000 clones submitted in the Genbank.
